Reflexology
A friend of mine does massage and I decided to give Reflexology a go again. I had it for a while when I first got ill over 10 years ago, I did found it quite painful as I was more in the beginning, it did not hurt much this time but I did feel pretty rough afterwards for a few days, well more than normal anyway but definitely going back. She said I hold a lot of tension in my feet as many people's feet are soft and floppy, I thought well that is no surprise as I am tense all over. I love my feet massaged so am planning to keep it up and see how it goes.

Carob coated brownies
Been getting into baking again lately as I miss having sweets and I got into eating biscuits and then that just makes me ill and I am borderline diabetic so I don't want to risk getting the real thing.

Morning Smoothie:)
I am enjoying Morning Smoothies
I usually have a banana one with pineapple or strawberries or blue berries and I have just discovered Pea Protein it is an alternative to Whey Protein which is made from milk whey and as I am dairy intolerant and like to avoid dairy anyway due to the health problems associated with it which I don't need on top of all I have already. I also add cinnamon that regulates blood sugar and counteracts the sugar load from the fruit.
It makes me fuller for longer and I don't get those sugar lows like before.

Will I ever learn?!
On Saturday me and my hubby and my niece and two other girls went to do this event
Well it was a really hot day and I had put on a long sleeved t-shirt thinking I would need it and then had to put the charity t-shirt on top so I was boiling, we did a warm up of Zumba which I have never done and is not very ME friendly to say the least (even Pilates is strenuous for me) then we did the record attempt of 1 minute bouncing on the space hoppers, think there were around 700 people that did it. But after that there was an optional attempt of 200 yards bounce round the field, well I decided to try for it along with hubby when he said I am stopping I realised I had way over-done it and my eyes went all blurry and I had to go and sit on the grass and my hubby got me some water which helped and my eyes gradually cleared and I could stand up.
My dad has terminal cancer and I wanted to give something back to help the cause, I should have least got sponsored to do it doh, maybe next year
Here is me pre-bounce:)

New storage
I have a new unit for the spare room got it on gumtree for £25 including delivery and it's full already!
I just it looks better to have some storage which hides stuff away more than the open shelving I have.
So bit by bit does it......

My Poem for ME Awareness
I wrote this poem in 2001
I have had ME since 1995
I still have ME in 2011
And I am still waiting for life to begin
Old Before Time
32 (now 42) years of age
Prime of life
For some that is
Me I am unfortunate
Have a debilitating illness
For which there's no cure
Not terminal
But may as well be
Life on hold
Awaiting a re-birth
To a zestful existence
The former self
Never stopped to rest
Now all I do is…rest
Sympathise with the elderly
Understand their plight
Feel their limitations
But I could wait for that
When it is my time
But for now
I have a lot of living to do

Blood test results
Got my results for the blood tests and found they are all normal, I am not diabetic, I do not have low iron, I do not have thyroid problems, I do not have coeliac disease, so I am relieved and to celebrate I had 6 pieces of chocolate last night:) I still need to see the figures though as I don't take their word for it as I know you can be borderline and they say you are normal especially when it comes to thyroid but it's good to rule other stuff out from time to time as if it's something you can do something about it's better than ME.

Sugar Free Again
Not easy but had to be as I was really illl with haywire blood sugar, hungry all the time and it was driving me mad so I went to the doctor and booked in for fasting blood sugar test and took myself off sugar, no more chocolate:( or biscuits but I started feeling better soon after I stopped and I know i can get rid of the sweet tooth if I stick with it. I have had some choccie with no sugar and sweetened with xylitol from goodness direct and that doesn't seem to affect blood sugar.

What a week I have had!
For a long time I have been getting a problem which I have just lived with I get an itching and also a small lump in my backside which makes it difficult to sit but it usually goes away within a few days and it's normally around my period time so I just put it down to hormones. Anyway last Wednesday think it was I got a lump and just got bigger and bigger and it was so painful and red and looked infected, I had family visiting so I delayed going to the doctors till Monday. As soon as I mentioned it she said it sounded like pilonidal cyst but when she examined me she said it was more superficial but said do you want to prick it with a pin I stupidly said yes becuase I thought if it was popped it would feel such relief but it made it worse and I not sure I how I managed to drive home it was agony. Later I was in tears and crying out with pain and I could only sit on my side or lay down for days since I had the boil/s and then it was even worse. The doctor put me on antibiotics. I have not take anti biotics for years and I hate taking them so I walked round (or should I say limped round) town a bit before I decided to get my prescription. I googled it and it came up with pilonidal cyst this site is good for into http://www.pilonidal.org/
and when I asked on the forum they seemed to think it was a pilonidal cyst. I was not convinced with the doctors diagnosis but then I also did not want to think I had pilonidal cyst as it sounds horrendous and they say surgery is the only option as it keeps flaring up otherwise. So I have to resist reading all the horror stories as hopefully it will go away and not return.
I used magnesium sulphate paste to draw out the boil/s and a hot water bottle over the area.
When I went to the loo just before bed it seemed to make them burst and a lot of stinking bloody pus came out and I was almost sick! But I did feel slightly less pain and when I woke up and had a bath in epsom salts which is supposed to help with the pain of boils (you can also use that to make a paste to draw out the boil)
I still have a small boil which has not burst yet and so I am hoping the paste will help it I must remember the hot water bottle as that seemed to do the trick before.

Gluten-free Cooking
Found this great blog for Gluten-free cooking http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/
I am getting into baking again as I miss having treats and gluten free biscuits etc are so expensive to buy
Tonight I made gluten free brownies I followed a recipe in Allergy Free Cookbook and I also made A Feel Good Cake from Barbara Cousins book Vegetarian Cooking Without.
The brownies were lovely just a little dry and the cake was very crumbly infact it fell apart when I was cutting it but very tasty.
I must try this recipe next time http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2006/01/dark-chocolate-brownies.html

Decluttering update
Working on decluttering the living room as I know that I can't tackle the worst room in the house first.
Every time I try I just get overwhelmed and stressed out and tend to move stuff around rather than deal with it. The experts say not to start on the worst room to start off smaller and build up to the bigger stuff.
We have reorganised the room and got rid of a tall bookcase which was a real clutter spot.
We got a new tv stand one of those glass ones (only trouble is now you see all the wires which we did not have with the old one) but we will get used to it. the old stand has gone to back of the room and it looks better as you do not see all the cds like before. Here is a photo of the bookcase so you can see how bad it was

New car:)
I got a new car it's a Honda Jazz automatic I had a Peugeot 206 which lasted me 3 years but it became such a pain due to automatic gear box going dicky and it would flash and then I would have to pull up and restart the car for ages so when hubby got a bonus and said I could get a new car of course I had to say YES.
Because I never dare drive my last car very far then I have to regain my confidence in driving.
today I had a drive and it was really busy traffic but it was great and I also have a nice cd radio now I did not have a working one in my old car.

The basket method
I got this suggestion for a Yahoo Group I am in called Clutter Help
"Fill the Basket, Empty the Basket" strategy.
Here is what you do:
1) Pick a spot in the room in a size you think you could manage. 1ft by 1ft
for example, or 1 box, or tthe desks surface, or 1 drawer.
2) Pick up everything from that spot and put it in the basket so that the
spot is completely empty
3) Go into a different room or even the garden if you have to and put the
basket down.
4) Pick 1 item out of the basket and really look at it. Then ask the following questions:
1) Is it rubbish?
Yes - walk to the bin and throw it in the trash right now.
No - Go to step 2
2) Do I need it?
No - Go to Step 3
Yes - Go to Step 4
3) Can it be given away / donated?
Yes - Get an empty plastic grocery bag, but the item in it and write the
person's name or place it is going to on the back.
No - Throw it in the trash right now.
4) Does this item fit into my ideal home?
Yes - Take it to the place it will go in your ideal home and put it there.
Even if the area is a mess, this is where that item belongs from now on.
No - Go to Step 3
Repeat the process for every item in the basket. Then go and get another
basket. Try to do 1 new basket a day. Every day go to that area you have
cleaned and do a quick tidy of that area using the basket method.
